

GRILLS-HOUSE, BILLIE JOYCE JOLLY, age 81, of Hoover, Alabama, was welcomed home by her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 13, 2011. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She was loved by all and respected and adored by all who knew her. She was dedicated to her Lord and Savior and her family. She laughed much and complained little. She always treated people of any walk in life with respect, love, and caring. She will be missed by all that knew her. She was predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Helen Jolly of Birmingham, Alabama; husband, Robert Edwin Grills of Hoover; second husband, Henry Franklin "Pig" House, Jr. of Mountain Brook, Alabama; and brother, James Ernest Jolly of Birmingham. Billieis survived by her daughter, Vicki Grills Harris (Edward) of Vestavia Hills, Alabama; son, Robert Mickey Grills (Laura) of Sterrett, Alabama; grandchildren, Robert Scott Harris (Beth), Dena Harris Richards (Brian), Owen Edward Harris, and Mary Helen Harris; great-grandchildren, Jada Reese Harris, Sawyer Grills Harris, and Julia Hannah Harris; siblings, Mary Carroll Jolly Kizziah, Ernestine Jolly Kay, Ann Jolly Baker (Jerry), and John Wallace "Jack" Jolly (Carol); special cousin, Gerry Lefoy Rogers (Don); and a number of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. Billie was born in Sandusky, Alabama, where she attended Minor High School, was an active member of Sandusky United Methodist Church, and an active member of the neighborhood where she met her husband Robert Edwin Grills before moving to Hoover. She became a very active member of Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church and Hoover Country Club (then Green Valley), and was a member of the Hoover Ladies Golf Association for over 50 years. She was an avid golfer, bowler, and bridge player. Billie and her husband Ed supported the Country Club through many of the growing years. She is now in a better place and Heaven is better with her there, but all of her family and friends will miss her. The Lord told us in John 14, "My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?" We all know Billie is preparing a place for us also. The visitation and funeral services will be at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama on Friday, December 16, 2011. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., with a funeral service at 1 p.m. Burial will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to the American Cancer Society.
