BATES, CARL FRANKLIN, of Pelham, Alabama died Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at home. He was 51. Carl was born December 29, 1960 in Birmingham, Alabama. Carl is survived by his wife, Caren; his parents, Donald and Marjory Bates; his brothers; Raymond (Regina) Bates and Bruce (Argelia) Bates; sister, Vera (Tom) Williams; and many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2012 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham. The Celebration of Carl's Life will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2012 in Southern Heritage Chapel, Pelham, and the burial will follow at 12:45 p.m. in Forest Hill Cemetery, Birmingham.
