Carl L Roy

ROY, CARL L. beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather passed away December 17, 2010 at the age of 81. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Jacqueline Downey Roy, and his brother Leonard Roy Jr., son Bill Roy (Mona), daughter Deniece Hand (Eddie), and son Doug Roy(Kathy). Carl was a loving grandfather to Alan Bullock, Katie Jinright (Robbie), Lee Bullock (Suzie), Brian Roy, Craig Roy, Jacque Causey (Tim), and Kyle Roy. He was also a proud great grandfather to Ben and Bridget Bullock, and Lindsey, Caleb and Madi Jinright. He is preceded in death by his father Leonard Roy Sr., mother Lillian Roy, step-mother Ruth Holcombe Roy, and sister Virginia Sparks (Sparky). Carl attended West End High School and retired from U.S. Steel after 30 years. He was also the owner and founder of Roy Electric Company. Carl was a devoted member and deacon at Green Valley Baptist Church. Visitation will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, Tuesday, December 21, 2010 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am followed by a memorial service. A private burial will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Green Valley Baptist Church Building Fund, 1815 Patton Chapel Rd., Hoover, AL 35226.
