

Carol Ferguson Dobbs, age 60, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2024. Carol was a beloved wife, mother, and friend, cherished for her generosity, warmth, and unwavering dedication to her family and career.
Born on July 27, 1964, in Jefferson County, Alabama, Carol spent her grammar and high school years at Shelby Academy. She later pursued higher education and proudly graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) with a bachelor's degree in health information science.
Carol enjoyed a successful career spanning over 35 years in the medical software development industry. Her most recent role was as a Product Manager with a Toronto, Canada-based company specializing in medical management software for senior care health facilities. She was deeply respected by her colleagues for her leadership, organizational skills, and ability to manage complex projects with grace.
Carol was a devoted mother to her four children: Barbara Alayna Priebe, Rachel Ann Priebe, Katherine Elise Priebe, and William Kramer Priebe. She fully embraced her role as a mother and a professional, working remotely to balance her career and family life. Carol found pride and joy in her children, traveling, preparing festive holiday atmospheres and meals. She loved nothing more than having her family with her whenever possible.
Carol is predeceased by her parents, Barbara and Harold Ferguson, and her brother, Ronny Ferguson. She is survived by her loving husband, Marty Dobbs; her children: Alayna, Rachel, Katie, and Will Priebe; stepchildren: Lindsey Dobbs, Patrick Dobbs; her brother Rick (Carolyn) and daughter Kit Ferguson, niece Anna Coutant (Greg), nephew, Adam Ferguson (Rebecca) and their mother Nancy Ferguson. Her nieces, Nicole Haywood (Stuart), Jackie Seay (Jonathan) and their mother Ranay Lucas.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 27, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham. Graveside services will be held at Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham, Alabama, at 11:00 A.M. on October 27, 2024. Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating Carol's life, remembering her kindness, her love for her family, and the many joyful moments she shared with those fortunate enough to know her. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Carol's honor to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
