HOPKINS, JR., CECIL ONEAL "HOPPY," age 65, of Chelsea, Alabama passed away Friday night, March 16, 2012. The Albany, Texas native and his family lived in the Birmingham, Alabama area since 1991. He worked for over 20 years in the global engineering construction business, most recently with Kellogg, Brown & Root in Birmingham. His favorite pasttimes were fishing and relaxing with his family at their home on Lay Lake. Hoppy was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Oneal Hopkins Sr., and a daughter, Amy Jacintha Hopkins. Survivors include Hoppy's wife, Phyllis Hopkins; his mother, Hazel Mitchell Hopkins; one daughter, Amanda Hopkins Reynolds (Brad); one son, Patrick Hopkins; three grandchildren, William Garrett Reynolds, Molly Oneal Reynolds, and Lillian Gray Reynolds; and one brother, Jack Hopkins (Virginia). The memorial service for Hoppy Hopkins will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 19, 2012 in the chapel of Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama. The family will greet friends one hour before and after the service.
