Charlie was born April 12, 1937 and graduated from Hueytown High School in 1956. After high school, he joined the U.S. Navy and served until 1959. He worked for Bellsouth from 1959 to 1994, and obtained his Bachelor degree from UAB in 1974. Charlie loved Alabama football, fishing, and hunting.
Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Ruth McMahan.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara McMahan; sons, Ken (Jackie) McMahan and Dan (Susan) McMahan; brothers, Mike and Billy McMahan; sister, Beth Harper; and grandchildren, Jared (Beckah) McMahan and Erin McMahan.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 26, 2018 beginning at 2pm at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, AL. Graveside services will take place immediately following visitation at Southern Heritage Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Lakeside Hospice.
