Dan was born in Printer, West Virginia on October 28, 1940 to Eugene and Lola Mae Hearn. He attended UAB in Birmingham, Alabama. On September 30, 1961, he married his best friend, Vivian Joy Walker.
Dan enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and Dog, Daisy. He enjoyed working and only retired a few months prior to his passing from Applied Fluid Systems, which he owned since 1986. He was blessed with many hard working and loving employees and will be missed dearly.
Dan attended Oak Mountain Independent Church. He will be remembered as a precious man who loved God infinitely. His goal in life was to share the word of Christ with everyone he encountered. His passion was studying and learning all aspects of God, including the Jewish Roots. Dan was in the process of writing a book about his many personal encounters with the Lord. His children and grandchildren will finish it in the near future. Many thanks to Beth Eaton for the hours she invested in getting the book started.
Dan has been reunited with his parents, Eugene and Lola Mae; brother, Gonn Hearn; and his infant son, Jason Daniel Hearn.
He is survived by his wife, soulmate, and best friend of 55 years, Vivian; children, Carey (Lisa) Hearn, Ken (Tina) Hearn, and Stephanie Hearn; brother, Jerry (Mary) Hearn; sister, Patsy Armstrong; and grandchildren, Lindsie (Ryan) Acton, Tyler Hearn, Reed Hearn, and Tayler Hearn.
A Celebration of Dan’s life will be held at 2pm Friday, June 30th at Pelham Church of God, Pelham, Alabama, with visitation beginning at 12:30pm at the church. Brother Melvin Massey and Brother George Golden will officiate. Burial will follow at Southern Heritage Cemetery.
Special thanks to Affinity Hospice for the wonderful care in the last 2 and a half weeks of his life.
