Danny O'Neil Meadows

Danny O'Neil Meadows, age 72, of Birmingham, Alabama passed at his home after a two year battle with esophageal cancer on Sunday May 19, 2019. Danny was born January 14, 1947. He is a graduate of The University of Alabama where he got his degree in Biology. He was an infantry officer with the U.S. Army where he served for three years in Germany. After leaving the military he began his career in insurance. He was a partner of the Beiersdoerfer Meadows Agency for many years. For the past 17 years he has been with Valent Group, formerly S.S. Nesbitt. He was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon. Danny lived his life to the fullest enjoying many adventures and hobbies.

Danny is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Rhonda Ford Meadows; his daughters, Danielle Meadows Baker (David), and Amanda Meadows Podgoreanu (Mihai); three siblings, Roger D. Meadows (Brenda), Dian Meadows Tomak, and Christopher H. Meadows (Lisa); grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Baker, Stuart O'Brien Baker, Samuel Michael Podgoreanu, Joseph O'Neil Podgoreanu, and Willa Jane Sofia Podgoreanu; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary Ruth Travis Meadows and Hershel Meadows.

A visitation will be held at Faith Presbyterian Church on Thursday, May 23 at 10:00-11:00 AM followed by service at 11:00 AM. Graveside service at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama at 1:15 PM.
