David Wayne Lucia, 63 of Fairfield, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2017. David attended Fairfield High School and was a 1971 graduate of John Carroll High School. During his high school years, he was elected class president, class favorite, and was an Alabama State Hurdling Champion. He graduated from UAB with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Chemistry, and worked as a lab technician at Carraway Methodist Medical Center. David enjoyed spending time at the lake with family and friends. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Mr. Lucia is preceded in death by his father, Jake Lucia and brother, Johnny Lucia. He is survived by his mother, Julia Ronilo Lucia; son, Philip Joseph Lucia; and nephews, Jason Lucia (Andi) and Adam Lucia.
The family wishes to extend gratitude to Dr. Rossman and her staff at Alabama Oncology, as well as the caregivers at UAB Medical West.
