David William Tangerman

David William Tangerman, 61 of Helena, passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2017. David graduated from Ball State University in 1979 with a degree in Industrial Technology/Business Administration, and he spent 30 plus years in the foundry industry, retiring as General Manager of Grede’s Bessemer plant in 2015.

He received a heart transplant in 1997 and was very grateful for the compassionate gift of life.

David was an amazing husband and a proud father. He enjoyed spending time with his family. His grandkids brought him tremendous joy. He loved the outdoors, the lake, and sitting by a crackling fire.

Mr. Tangerman is preceded in death by his parents, George and Doris Tangerman. He is survived by his loving wife, Vicki Atkins Tangerman; sons, Brandon Neil Tangerman (Anne) and Stephen Allen Tangerman (Abby); daughter, Katherine Ann Dawson (Trevor) and Carrie Tangerman League (Josh); brother, James Louis Tangerman (Erika); and grandchildren, Grayson Cobb Tangerman, Scarlett Ann Dawson and Isaiah William League.

The celebration of David’s life will be at 11am on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, with visitation beginning at 10am.
