Don W. Small

Don W. Small, age 86 of Hoover, Alabama passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2016. Don was born and raised in Colorado. He served in the Navy from 1948-1952, and the Air Force from 1954-1972 when he retired. He retired from Uster Textile Company in 1994. He was an active member of the VFW and American Legend.

Don is preceded in death by his parents, Sherman Curtis Small and Grace Pearl Small; three brothers, and one sister, all of Seattle.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Small; brother, Bill Small of Seattle; son, Randy Hendrick; daughters, Deb (Jimmy) Langley; Pam Kluttz, Cindy Figert, and Renae Speaks; grandchildren; Shanna Langley, James (Kellie) Langley, Daniel (Courtney) Langley, Donnie (Caroline) Kluttz, Alan (Ashley) Kluttz, John Kluttz, Christina (Wesley) Olroyd, and 13 more; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 10:30-12:00 pm Friday, August 12 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life at 12:00. A graveside service will be at 2:00 pm at Alabama National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lakeside Baptist Church Building Fund; 2865 Old Rocky Ridge Road, Birmingham, AL 35243.
