

Buck was born in Miami Beach, Florida on March 9, 1938, the son of Edward Clinton Ambrose, Jr. and Carol Dodson Ambrose.
Buck grew up in Miami Shores, Florida where he attended Miami Edison Senior High School. He attended the University of Florida where he was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity before earning a degree in Business Administration at the University of Miami. Buck proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard as a Seaman First Class Reservist. He met his lovely wife, Suzanne Yarbrough Ambrose, and they were married in June 1963.
Buck enjoyed a successful career in business which took him from Miami to Atlanta, Georgia and Little Rock, Arkansas before moving to Birmingham, Alabama as a district manager for UARCO Business Forms in 1981.
The Ambroses have been members of Shades Mountain Baptist Church since 1982 where Buck was an active member of his Sunday school class as well as the church choir. Buck was a faithful member of the Community Bible Study. Buck was an avid golfer and a member of Chase Lake Country Club until it closed in 2008 before joining Inverness Country Club. Buck was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather, an honest and dependable friend to many, and a true patriot of this country.
Buck was preceded in death by his sister, Randall Ambrose Gottschalk and is survived by his wife, Suzanne Y. Ambrose, children, Allison G. Ambrose, Bryan C. Ambrose, Christopher M. Ambrose, and Andrea A. Susce. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Alexandra N. Ambrose, Jordan E. Susce, Steven “Brode” A. Susce, Ella C. Ambrose, and Andrew C. Susce and nephew Michael H. Gottschalk.
A celebration of life service will be held on May 31, 2024 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home at 10:00am with service starting at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Foundry Ministries in Bessemer, Alabama.
