Edward "Ted" W Harrington

Edward “Ted” Harrington, 66, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2025, in Birmingham, Alabama, surrounded by family. Ted was born on April 22, 1958, to Francis and Cynthia Harrington in Boston, Massachusetts. He was a graduate of Michigan State University with an undergraduate degree in food services.

He worked in many fields, notably the food services industry and logistics. He was a proud supporter of many charities, from the Red Cross to the Wounded Warrior Project, and many in between. He had a passion for those that served in the military, going out of his way to thank and support veterans. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, repairing things, and attending grandchildren’s sporting events. Ted never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Ted was a family man, a father, grandpa, son, and brother. He was preceded in death by his father, Francis Harrington. Ted is survived by his mother, Cynthia Harrington; his life partner, Mary Harrington; his son, Taylor Harrington (wife, Chasity; daughter, Olivia), his daughter Kelly Moujoodi (sons Levi, Liam, and Landon); and his brother Rob Harrington (wife, Kelly).

Ted will be dearly missed by family and friends.

A visitation for Edward will be held Friday, February 7, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home and Cemetery, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124. Following the visitation will be a graveside service from 3:00 PM to 3:45 PM at Southern Heritage Funeral Home & Cemetery, 475 Cahaba Valley Rd, Pelham, AL 35124.
