Frances Porter Logan was born on September 11, 1928, to the union of Coy Eugene Porter and Clara Eunice Porter in Hayden, Alabama. She received her formal education at West End High School in Birmingham, Alabama.
Frances was united in holy matrimony with Kenneth Ray Logan on October 16, 1953, in Birmingham, Alabama. Their loving union was blessed with three daughters, and her life was centered around family, faith, and service.
A devoted follower of Christ, Frances was a long-time member of Hunter Street Baptist Church before joining Shades Mountain Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful member for the rest of her life. She found great joy in serving others, spending many years as a dedicated "Pink Lady" volunteer at Princeton Hospital. One of her greatest joys was rocking babies in the church nursery, a role that exemplified her nurturing spirit and gentle heart.
In her leisure, Frances loved nothing more than caring for her family—cooking meals, sharing time together, and supporting her loved ones in any way she could. Her life was a beautiful testimony of selflessness, grace, and unwavering love.
Frances was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth Ray Logan; her mother, Clara Eunice Porter; and her father, Coy Eugene Porter; her sister, Clara Jean Johnson and her brother, Bill Porter.
She leaves to cherish her memory her three daughters: Debbie Tidwell (Joe), Sharon Little (Mike), and Nicki McAbee (Shawn); her treasured grandchildren: Richard Tidwell (Lynette), Brooke Tidwell Kearbey (Hayes), Allison Little, Cameron Little (Kristin), Emily McAbee Taylor (Austin), and Hallie McAbee; and her beloved great-grandchildren: Cole Tidwell, Chase Tidwell, Cohen Kearbey, Wells Kearbey, Coy Kearbey, Jane Little, and Charlie Little.
Visitation will be held at Shades Mountain Baptist Church on June 24 at 1:30 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 PM. A private burial will be held for the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Hand in Hand Ministry or Make Jesus Known, both at Shades Mountain Baptist Church, in honor of Frances’s legacy of service and faith.
