Frank Phillips Nelson II, 67, Aug 18, 1947 – June 18, 2015, passed away at his home on June 18th. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank Phillips Nelson and Ann Wilbanks Nelson; sister, Caroline Nelson Keever. He is survived by his siblings, William H. Nelson (Sandy), Rebecca N. Lawrence (Charles) and Patricia N. Hewlett (Marvin). Many nieces and nephews of whom he was so proud. Frank was known as Phillip by all who knew and loved him. He grew up in Homewood, AL., Served in the US Air force and a tour in Viet Nam. He Earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from UAB in Nuclear Medicine. Worked at Bessemer Caraway Hospital (now UAB West) for many years. Phillip loved sky diving and his wonderful retreat on Logan Martin lake. More than any of these, he loved his pets, Windy, Dingo, and Smokie. He is now at rest with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. A committal service will be held Thursday June 25th at 9:30am at The Alabama National Cemetery.
