Franklin D.R. Denney

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Lee Denney and Lilla Mae Denney of Milltown, Alabama; brother, Jack Denney of Louisville; two sisters, LeVerne Denney Chandler Atlanta and Betty Denney Redmon of Alpharetta. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jo Ann Denney; daughter, Jennifer Denney Holmes (Bob) of Birmingham; son, Jeff Denney of Crestview Flordia; grandchildren, Ashley Holmes Mendes (J.P.) of Birmingham, Brittney Holmes King (Ryan) of Birmingham, Drew Holmes (Sonora) of Opelika, Blake Denney of Hoover, Sarah Beth Denney of Hoover; great-grandson, J.L. Mendes of Birmingham; brother, Tom Denney (Sandra) of Clarksville, Tn; many cousins, nephews, and nieces.

Franklin graduated from Auburn University in the school of Engineering. He retired from Alabama Power after 40 years of service. He was a former member of Shades Mountain Independent Church, where he was on the church board and an elder for many years.

Service for Franklin were held at Southern Heritage Cemetery. Instead of flowers, the family request donations to St. Jude Research Hospital for children or the Big Oak Ranch in Franklin's memory.
