Garrett Lee Jones

JONES, GARRETT LEE "TINY MAN," age 25, passed away June 5, 2011 due to injuries sustained in the April 27 tornado that swept through Concord. He was living there with his wife, Jennifer Leonard Jones, who died in the storm. A 2004 graduate of Pleasant Grove High School, Garrett attended Bessemer Technical College and was employed by Vulcan Heating & Air. He was an avid Auburn football fan. In addition to his wife, preceding Garrett in death were his brother, Brandon Jones, and grandparents, Walter "Pop" Martin and Jessie Nell "Jay Momma" Martin. Survivors include Garrett's parents, Janell and Frank Jones; one brother, Kevin Jones (Marlo); nephews, Ethan and Logan Jones; aunts; and uncles. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2011 in the funeral home's chapel with Pastor Vic Simonetti and Dr. Levan Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham. The family wishes to thank the staff at UAB Hospital, primarily the staff in the Trauma ICU, for their loving and dedicated care of Garrett.
