Connie received her formal education at Phillips High School in Birmingham, Alabama. She furthered her education at Samford University School of Pharmacy. She graduated on August 31, 1967.
Helen Elder was married to Douglas Hickman on June 9, 1992, in Gadsden, Alabama. Connie was a member of Mountain Chapel Methodist Church. She was employed by Callahan Eye Foundation Hospital as a Director of Pharmacy for 35 years as a Pharmacist. She made her confession of faith as a young woman. She grew up in the Acipco community. Connie would be known to many as a long-time Pharmacist in various locations.
Connie was the most loving, thoughtful woman and wife. She was steadfast and true in every respect. All will miss this sweet, intelligent woman. I thank God for this wonderful gift.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Willard "Bill" Elder.
She is survived by her husband, Douglas Hickman.
Visitation will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home on Thursday, February 22, from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm.
