Ilse Z. Lacy

Ilse Z. Lacy, age 91, passed away on September 17, 2019. She was a long time resident of Alabaster, Alabama. Ilse was born on January 27, 1928 in Vienna, Austria where she was raised by her mother, Maria Zimmermann. Ilse met the love of her life, Charles Lacy, at age 18 and would soon begin their lives together not ever imagining that she would be a "war bride".

Ilse gave her time and love to Child Evangelism Fellowship in Eastern Europe. Her dedication was to the children by spreading the Gospel of the Lord to the boys and girls. Her many passions included being active in church, "prayer ministry," gardening, Opera music, cats, and her loving family. She was a member of Community Baptist Church of Maylene. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and Oma. She will be missed greatly by all that knew her.

She is predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years, Charles Lacy, Ilse is survived by her daughters, Becky Bradley Kirby (Aaron), and Linda Iles (Dan); Son, Tim Lacy (Betsy); grandchildren, Becky Foxworthy (Jeff), Matt Iles (Nicole), Jana Kimball (Jason), Allison Heinrich (Rob), Missy Shoemaker (Kevin), Jason Bradley; sixteen great-grandchildren; cousin Dr. Susanna Naude and nieces and nephew. She also leaves behind her two cats who she loved and adored, Brother and Sister.

Visitation will be Sunday, September 22, 2019 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm with a service to follow at Southern Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will be Monday, September 23, 2018 at 9:30 am at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo.
