Jackie Moore

September 20, 1940 - January 25, 2017

Jacquelyne M. "Jackie" Moore, age 76, of Vestavia Hills, AL, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2017. She was a 1958 graduate of Goodlettsville High School in Tennessee.

Jackie and her husband, Thomas "Tom" W. Moore, Sr., moved to Birmingham, AL, from Nashville, TN, in 1972. She loved plants and flowers. One of her favorite pastimes was spending all day in her yard, tending her gardens and flower beds. Many of her flowers were from her own mother's garden, which gave Jackie great joy and pride.

Survivors include Jackie's two daughters, Mary K. Morris (Rob) of Dunwoody, GA, and Jacquelyne E. Moore of Hoover, AL; one son, Thomas W. Moore, Jr. (Ben) of Birmingham; two grandchildren, John and David Morris of Dunwoody; two brothers, William "Bill" C. Moncrief, Jr. of Nashville, TN, and Thomas "Tommy" R. Moncrief (Holly) of Goodlettsville, TN; one nephew, Thomas R. Moncrief, Jr. of Nashville; and one niece, Jocelyne M. Robinson of Ft. Mill, SC.

The family extends gratitude to Dr. John Farley, sitter Sabrina Holmes, and hospice nurse Julie Murrell for their care of Jackie in her illness.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. on Friday, January 27, 2017 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, AL. The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Chapel, Pelham, with burial immediately following at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Jackie Moore's name to The Birmingham Botanical Gardens, 2612 Lane Park Road, Birmingham, AL 35223.
