

BUNCH, JR., JAMES "JIM", age, 52, of Helena, Alabama, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2010 after a long fight with cancer. He was surrounded by his wife and church family. Mr. Bunch was born May 13, 1957 in Fort Worth, Texas to James and Fannie Bunch. He attended Thompson High School. He took various construction jobs throughout the east coast including Gitmo Cuba prior to returning to Helena in 1994 where he worked for Tyco Simplex Grinnell for 15 years. He was an active member of Riverside Baptist Church and took pleasure in fishing, football and family. He enjoyed meeting people and sharing life's stories. He was a good and gentle man and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Mr. Bunch is survived by his wife, Marla; son, Michael; daughters, Rachel, Misty, and Makayla; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday March 6, 2010 at Riverside Baptist Church in Helena at 1 pm. Mr. Bunch will lie in state at 12 noon. Visitation will be at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama on Friday, March 5, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. Interment will be at Helena City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Helena Landscape 205-229-0488 for a memorial garden to be planted at Riverside Baptist Church.
