Born May 11, 1951 in Stephens County, Georgia, Janice is the daughter of Emily R Coker and the late Dan P Coker.
Janice is survived by her children, Matthew, of Birmingham, Alabama, and Andrew (Melissa), of Alabaster, Alabama; three grandchildren, Caleb, Elijah, and Zachary; and her brother Michael, of Cleveland, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the late James B Whitfield Jr.
Janice enjoyed playing piano and had a love for gardening and flowers. She worked at The Bank of Toccoa and Blue Bell Creameries as a bookkeeper.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, in the chapel of Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama.
The family will receive friends and family at the funeral home at 9:15 AM. Burial will follow in Southern Heritage Cemetery.
