

Jimmie Kreider Turner, age 91 of Shelby County, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at her home. Mrs. Turner retired from Lighting and Lamp after 25 years and was a member of New Century Church.
Jimmie graduated from Jones Valley High School in 1942 and was a member of the National Honor Society. She married her sweetheart, Sam J. Turner in 1941. They enjoyed traveling with Jasper, their beloved dog. He always sat in Jimmie’s lap. Sam and Jimmie had a wonderful life together, and on October 24th, would have celebrated 74 years of marriage.
Mrs. Turner is preceded in death by her parents, Zona and James Kreider. She is survived by her loving husband, Sam Turner; sisters, E. Earl Baggett and Jean Nix; brother, Donald Kreider; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend sincere appreciation to Mrs. Turner’s wonderful caregivers, Alice Holsomback, Betty Davis and Sandy Yingling.
The celebration of Mrs. Turner’s life will be at 1pm on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, with Jeremy Kreider officiating. Burial will follow at Valhalla Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at noon. Pallbearers will be Dean Nix, Greg Kreider, Jimmy Frazier, Cliff Duncan, Phoo Kirkham and Eric Steelreath.
Flowers are appreciated. However, in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
