Jimmy earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). His professional career was in sales for many companies, including IBM and CDW.
He was a member of the Church of the Highlands. In his leisure, he enjoyed playing golf, relaxing at the lake, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Jimmy was predeceased by his father, Jimmy Howard Fordham, and is survived by his wife of 38 years, the former Janie Lyn Hill, to whom he was married on August 31, 1985; his mother, Shirley Strickland Fordham; two sons, Ryan (wife, Kelly) and Richie (wife, Wesley); five grandchildren, Brooks, Charlotte, Haddie, Evie, and Bailey; brother, Darren; and sister, Teresa.
Visitation will be Monday, December 18, 2023 at the chapel at the Church of the Highlands Grants Mill Campus from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by the memorial service at 11 a.m. at the chapel, 4700 Highlands Way, Birmingham, AL 35210.
