JoAnn H. Casey, 81, went home to be with the Lord April 8, 2015. She was born on August 13, 1933 in Ensley, Alabama. She graduated from Glenn Vocational School. On June 29, 1956 she married James G. Casey. She was always active in PTO, Mountain Oaks Garden Club, and the Activities Ministry at Shades Mountain Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Rueben Hendrix and a sister, Betty Gober. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, James G. Casey, Sr.; daughters, Jan Hubbard (Stanley) and Julie Toner (Carl), and a son, James Casey, Jr. Five grandchildren Jake and Haley Hubbard, Neleigh, Wes, and Carly Toner. A special thanks to the people of Rittenhouse for their loving care of JoAnn.
A memorial service will be held April 11, 2015 at 3 pm at Shades Mountain Baptist Conference Center. Family will greet friends one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Alabama Alzheimer’s Association, One Perimeter Park South, Suite 100N, Birmingham, AL 35243
