Joan loved her family. Her favorite times were with her husband, her daughters and their families, her sister, and her cousins.
Joan was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Dorothy Harris; brother, Jerry Harris; and sister-in-law, Jean Ann Harris.
Survivors include Joan's husband of 65 years, Van R. Comfort, Jr.; daughters, Julie Lockhart (Charley) and Jill Watson (Ken); grandchildren, Rachel Lockhart, Lauren Lockhart, and Alexandra Lockhart; and sister, Pam Smith (Clay).
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Mountain Chapel United Methodist Church, followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. at the church, 2541 Rocky Ridge Road, Birmingham, AL 35243. Burial will be at Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham, AL. Pastor Tyler Christiansen will officiate.
