

Brantley, John Dudley, IV, age 57, of Maylene, AL, passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 2, 2016. He was born July 23, 1958 to the late John Dudley Brantley, III and Carolyn Boyd Brantley. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Pearl Murphy and John D. Brantley, Jr., and Mable Mayo and Morris Eugene Boyd
John is survived by his beloved wife of 18 years, Laura McElroy Brantley; sister and brother-in-law, Kelly and Jay Berryhill; brother, William Allen Brantley; nephews, Brantley Boyd Berryhill and Jay Davis Berryhill; and niece Kelsey Laine Berryhill.
John grew up in Bluff Park and valued the many friendships formed in his early years, maintaining and treasuring these relationships each and every day of his life. He attended Berry High School, and his first career was with Brookwood Hospital where he was employed for over 20 years. In 2000, John fulfilled his desire to become part of the transportation and trucking industry and was a valued employee of Materials Delivery Service, Inc.. He never failed to phone Laura each day while he was on the road.
John’s interests centered around Motocross Sports and Alabama football. He especially loved vacationing on the beaches of Alabama and Florida, where he and Laura spent so many happy days.
Those fortunate enough to have known John will remember he gentleness, his kind and generous heart, and his deep love of family and friends. May his memory be a blessing for others.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 8, 2016 at 10:00 AM, Southern Heritage Funeral Home, Pelham, AL, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM in the chapel
