John Glenn Mayer of Alabaster, Alabama was called home to his Lord and Savior on February 10, 2021, at the age of 56. He was born on September 14, 1964, in Port Huron, Michigan. Glenn graduated from AUM with a BS in Business Administration and worked as a general manager with several different companies, most recently with Stark Exterminators. He was a wonderful husband to Karen and a proud father to five beautiful daughters. He thoroughly enjoyed the time he spent as a referee for high school and club soccer. He was an avid reader of Stephen King novels and had a love of classic rock. Two of his favorite pastimes were spending time at the beach and cheering for Michigan football. Glenn was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Alabaster. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Karen Mayer; daughters, Caitlyn (Seth) Seagraves, Alyssa (Ryan) Onkka, Lauren Mayer (Madison Dunn), Emma Mayer, and Tess Mayer; parents, Elinore and Kenneth Mayer; brother, Mark (Angela) Mayer; sister, Katherine Mayer; and seven nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by grandparents Roma and Martin Mayer and Anne and Vinton Lent. There will be a celebration of life at First Presbyterian Church of Alabaster (8828 Highway 119, Alabaster, AL 35007) on February 27, 2021, at 11:30 am. Visitation will begin one hour prior at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations in ho nor of John Glenn Mayer to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
