

The New Orleans, Louisiana native was employed as a finance and inventory manager in Pass Christian, Mississippi, before moving to Calera in 2003. He retired as a safety inspector with SIGMA Associates, Ltd.
Buddy was a U.S. Coast Guard Veteran and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was predeceased by his mother, Melvy Frances Gleason Scardino; his father, Angelo Scardino, Sr.; and one brother, Angelo Scardino, Jr. Survivors include Buddy's wife of 54 years, Georgeanna Butler Scardino; two sons, Wade Scardino (Stacie) and Lance Scardino (Rachel); five grandchildren, Daniel, Sarah, Hannah, Faith, and Levi; one sister, Dorothy LeBlanc; and one brother, Thomas Scardino (Linda).
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama, immediately followed by the 11 a.m. Celebration of Buddy's Life in Ridout's Southern Heritage Chapel, Pelham. After the service, the family will resume visitation at the funeral home.
On Sunday, December 6, 2015, the graveside service will begin at 1 p.m. at the Butler-McGehee Family Cemetery near New Harmony Baptist Church in Clifty, Kentucky.
Memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Control Society of Los Angeles, California.
