She was born on August 14, 1935, to the late Joseph Tony and Mary Lovoy Pitts. Josephine is also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Paul August; and her sister, Angel Pitts Lusco.
Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Cherie August Pardi and Mary Lynn August Kleimeyer (Mark); grandchildren, Melissa Pardi Prewett; Amber Noelle Kleimeyer; Marcus Kristo Kleimeyer; and Eliana Ariel Kleimeyer. She is also survived by her two sisters, Virginia Pitts Brady and Phyllis Pitts Culwell; and her brother, Anthony Joseph Pitts. Josephine was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, sewing, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Ridout’s Southern Heritage Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at 1:15 pm at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama.
