Joy Cox Rogers

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2013 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home, Pelham. The family will also greet friends from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home in Colleyville, TX. The graveside funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2013 at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, Colleyville.

Joy was a loving wife, devoted mother of two children, and cherished grandmother to four beautiful grandchildren. Raised in Selma, CA, she was a Selma High School graduate. She lived in San Francisco, CA before meeting her future husband, James R. Rogers, while residing in Hawaii. Married in 1964, three years before moving to Dallas-Fort Worth, TX area.

Joy was predeceased by her husband, James, and her parents, John Thomas and Willie Mae Cox. Survivors: Joy's loving companion, Craig A. Thoftne; daughter, Lisa D. Johnson; son, Jason V. Rogers (Patricia); grandchildren, Jordan Rogers, Abigail Rogers, Samuel Rogers, and A.J. Rogers; and brother, Robert "Bobby" Cox (Pammy).
