

Emily Joyce Nash Parsons, 85, of Pelham, Alabama died peacefully at her home on February 14, 2023. She was born April 3, 1937 in Birmingham, Alabama to Clyde and Helen Laminack. She grew up in North Birmingham and graduated from Phillips High School in 1955.
She married James (Jim) Alford Parsons on May 31,1959, living in Birmingham, Alabama until their move to Pelham, Alabama in 1973. Joyce is survived by her children, Barbara Parsons Warren (Joel) of Franklin, Tennessee and James Warren Parsons (Davena) of Pelham, Alabama; four grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer, Katherine and Corrine; two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Bernard; as well as her two sisters, Joanne Strong and Barbara Forster. Joyce was preceded in death by her mother Helen Nash and stepfather Robert Nash, her husband, Jim Parsons and their son, Robert Nash Parsons.
Over her lifetime, Joyce worked in several career fields including Director of The Kidney Foundation of Alabama. Her last working years, prior to retirement, were devoted to assisting with the family-owned business of Jim Parsons Leasing Company.
Joyce was a devout Christian and long-time member of McElwain Baptist Church and volunteered her time to help others. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother as well as lending a helping hand to others in need.
Per her wishes, there will be no funeral. A family visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124.
