Joyce grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida and studied psychology at the University of Florida. She was a homemaker who later opened a dance studio, Dance for Joy, in Atlanta, Georgia.
Joyce is survived by her three daughters, Jill Mallory, Jan Russo, and Julie Chalmers; her five grandsons, Brendan Mallory, Colin Mallory, Ryan Chalmers, Hayden Chalmers, and Michael Russo; her sister, Joan Ratchford, her niece, Mandi Long, and her nephew, Patrick Ratchford.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 10:30 in the Chapel at Briarwood Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, Alabama. The service will be preceded by a visitation at 10:00 a.m.
