Karen F. O'Neil

Karen O’Neil, 73 of Hoover, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2017. Karen was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, niece and friend. She lived in Sewickley, PA and moved several places due to her husband’s career. They lived in Charlotte, NC, Wichita, KS, and Houston, TX before finally settling in Hoover, AL. Her hobbies included tennis and coaching softball; but mostly she adored spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Karen is preceded in death by her father, William Fishburn; mother, Mary Elizabeth Kedar; grandson, Parker Stephens Looney; and the wonderful aunts who raised her, Jean Kedar, Anne Margaret Kedar and Helen Avery Kedar. She is survived by her loving husband, Terrence Robert O’Neil; daughters, Laurie O’ Neil Bennett (Mike), Kelly O’Neil Large (Brian) and Corby O’Neil Looney; and grandchildren, Ashley Bennett Perkins (Nick), Casey Robert Bennett, Brooks Michael Bennett, Ryan Avery Gilbert, Sarah Elizabeth Looney, Patrick O’Neil Looney, Hayden William Gilbert and Ava Lynn Looney.

A time of visitation and celebration of Karen’s life will be from 2pm until 4pm on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, followed by a private family service. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to the Stroke Association at http://beamie.muchloved.com
