

Kenneth Marlin Arden, 85, of Birmingham, Alabama, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 1st, 2025. He left behind a legacy of strength, service, and deep devotion to family.
Ken was born and raised in Trion, Georgia, where his love for the outdoors and strong sense of community was first rooted. A talented athlete, he was the captain of the 1957 Trion High School Georgia State Championship football team. He went on to play college football at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and Jacksonville State University before proudly serving in the United States Navy aboard the USS Eugene A. Greene.
Following his military service, Ken earned his law degree from the Birmingham School of Law and built a distinguished career in the insurance industry, working tirelessly for over 50 years. His dedication and integrity left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike.
Ken had a lifelong passion for the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Among his greatest joys were family gatherings, especially the annual family dove hunt- a tradition he deeply cherished and helped make special for generations.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Christy Leontis Arden; daughter, Maria Tidmore (Joe), sons, Stephen McClain and Hunter Arden (Kerensa); grandchildren, Marlena Tidmore Hamrick (Cory), Joseph Tidmore (Taylor), and Jacob Tidmore (Jaselyn); and great grandchildren, Alyster, Greylan, Laken, and Callen Hamrick, and Braleigh, Braxtyn, Jackson, and Caroline Tidmore.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Kenneth and Mabel Templeton Arden.
Ken will be remembered for his steady presence, strong work ethic, and the unwavering love he gave to his family. His legacy lives on in the stories, traditions, and love he passed down.
The family will have a private graveside at Alabama National Cemetery officiated by Patti and Robby Richardson.
