Ken Maynard, 79, of Birmingham, AL passed away in his home on December 12, 2015 due to Alzheimer’s Disease. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Mr. Maynard served in the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army in Fort Campbell, KY, where he met the love of his life, Patricia. He had a successful career with Equifax and served as a city councilman for Pelham, Alabama. After he retired from Equifax, he served as the administrator of Lakeside Baptist Church and oversaw the seniors program for over a decade. Mr. Maynard was a hard working, loyal man who loved and served his God above all else. He ministered to all people with a kindness and wisdom gleaned from years of prayer, Bible study, and worship.

Mr. Maynard is preceded in death by his father, Earnest Martin Maynard, his mother Inella Pearl Maynard, and his brother James Earl Maynard. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia Ann Maynard, two sons Mark Allan Maynard of Birmingham, AL, and Brian Scott Maynard (Janet) of Alabaster, AL, one daughter Kristi Ann Maynard Vazquez (Frank) of Port Washington, NY, eight grandchildren, Lindsay Guin (Todd), Carrie Hayes, Shaun Barr (Christina), Mandy Barr, Marcus Maynard, Jack Vazquez, Patrick Vazquez, Kate Vazquez, and 7 great grandchildren Peyton, Emily, Colin, Ellis, Tristan, Maggie and Amelia.

Services to celebrate Mr. Maynard’s life will be held Tuesday December 15, 2015 at Lakeside Baptist Church 2865 Old Rocky Ridge Rd, Birmingham, AL 35243

Visitation will be from 9:30am – 11:00am followed immediately by the service. Graveside service will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home 475 Cahaba Valley Rd. Pelham, AL 35124.
