Kenneth R. Whitehead

He was born in Birmingham, Alabama on April 5, 1950, to Orville and Lola Whitehead. Kenneth was a graduate of West End High School and a member of Elliottsville Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He married the love of his life, Mary Jackson on May 16, 1975 and together they had one child, a daughter, Jennifer.

Kenneth was the owner and operator of Whitehead Tire & Auto for over 20 years. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his wife, daughter, family, and his many friends. He loved dining out, going to Smith Lake, riding horses, raising donkeys, and hanging out by the pool. Kenneth will always be remembered for being fun-loving, spirited, caring, and truly "one of a kind." He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his father, Orville Whitehead; and his mother, Lola Box Whitehead.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of over 46 years, Mary J. Whitehead; and his adoring daughter, Jennifer Nicole Whitehead; his sister, Martha Jean Killian; his brother, Douglas Whitehead; brother-in-laws, Troy Jackson (Regina); Johnny Jackson; sister-in-law, Gloria Ramsay (Ted); nephews, Jackson; Hudson; Rivers; Brooks and Bridger Young; along with niece, Ireland Grace Young, who he loved like grandchildren. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews of the Musso, Killian, Jackson, and Whitehead families.

A visitation will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home on Friday, August 6, 2021, from 11:00 - 11:30 am with a graveside service following at 12:00 pm at Southern Heritage Cemetery. A celebration of life gathering will follow graveside services at Tre Luna restaurant, Trace Crossings in Hoover, Alabama.
