
Larry graduated in 1948 from North Central High School in Spokane. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953. Later, he received his BA and MA degrees from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa.
Larry taught History, Government and Economics at McAdory High School for 30 years. Also taught at Walker College, Ensley High School, and Rutledge School. Influenced many young lives and helped many people during the years.
Larry was the loving husband of Gayle Smith for 58 years. In addition to Gayle, survivors include two daughters, Marjorie Gayle (Tiger) Baker and Suzanne Baker Burrow; one granddaughter, Kaitlyn Baker Burrow; special son-in-law, David R. Burrow; one brother, Forrest S. Baker, Jr. of Heyburn, Idaho; uncle, Robert W. Moore of McCalla; and many nieces and nephews. Special chosen daughters Cheryl Taranto and AnnaGray Griffin also survive Larry.
There will be no funeral service. Private services will be held at a later date.
