Lonnie McKinley Mason

Lonnie is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Sammie Walton Mason; parents, William Thomas and Elizabeth Mason; brothers, Herbert, Vernon, S. J. “Son”, Johnny and Onnie Mason; and sisters, Ila Kirkland and Lelar Walton. He is survived by his son, Larry (Lucy) Mason; daughter, Becky (David) Huffstutler; sisters, Lucille Howell and Mary Joiner; grandchildren, Kim (Tim) Mergenthal, Laura (Johnny) LaFoy, Joel (Kristen) Huffstutler and Jacob (Christy) Huffstutler; and great grandchildren, Mason, Madison Malorie and Brady Mergental, Faith and Grace LaFoy, Owen Huffstutler, and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank everyone for all your prayers. They would also like to extend special appreciation to Shelby Ridge for the care given for the past 3 ½ years, and New Beacon Hospice for their compassion and support.

The funeral service for Mr. Mason will be at 1pm on Monday, July 28, 2014 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, with burial following at Union United Methodist Church Cemetery in Sterrett. The family will receive friends from 11:30am until 1pm at the funeral home.
