

Louis Hendrix Hudson, 91 of Birmingham, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Mr. Hudson was born in Bakewell, TN on September 6, 1923 and attended Central High School in Chattanooga, TN. He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II and was highly decorated for his missions in the southern Philippines and the air offensive operations in Japan, China, and the western Pacific. Louis was a full-time member of the Alabama Air National Guard where he was part of the Berlin Air Lift and Cuba Bay of Pigs operations. Louis was a long time resident of Trussville, AL.
Mr. Hudson is preceded in death by his children, Donald L. Hudson and Jan L. Hudson; brothers, Glenn Hudson, Hubert Hudson and Edsel Hudson; and sister, Katherine Hudson Welch. He is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Dunn Hudson; son, Gary Lee Hudson (Stacy); daughter, Karen Hudson Burger (Tom); brother, Lester Hudson (Willette); and grandchildren, Stacy Ann Burger, Michelle Burger De Villa (Michael), Heath Monroe Hudson and Trace Garrett Hudson.
A graveside service will be at 1pm on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Greenville, AL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in memory of Mr. Hudson be made to the Southern Museum of Flight in Birmingham, AL.
