

Madi was a devoted daughter, sister, and granddaughter who loved her friends with all her heart. Above all, she was was a devoted faithful sister of Jesus Christ.
Madi is survived by her mother, Lisa Barksdale; father, Dr. Kevin Barksdale; sister, McKenzie Barksdale; grandmother, Virginia Barksdale; grandmother, Peggy Brandon Mocko and her husband Richard Mocko; uncles, Brian Barksdale and Dr. Alan Barksdale; and cousins, Meredith Barksdale Hornsby, Amanda Barksdale Bryant, James Barksdale, Marianna Barksdale, Jonathan Barksdale, and Rebecca Bryant.
Madi was preceded in death by her grandfathers, James C. Barksdale and J.A. Brandon, and by her uncle, Barney Brandon.
Madi was accepted and enrolled in NYU for Fall 2017. She had received Scholarships to Arizona State University (Barrett Honors College), University of Alabama, and Baylor University. Her interests and achievements included Accomplished Equestrian: 2012 USEF Pony Finals 16th Over Fences 2012. Qualified USEF Pessoa Medal Finals 2015, Many championships and best in show rider awards from 2012 through 2015. She was a member of The National Honor Society, Debate Team, and participated on a mission trip to Costa Rica.
Madi had a Heart for God and was Intelligent, creative and engaging.
A private graveside service has been planned at Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham, Alabama.
Memorial donations may be made to The Children's Museum of Houston, Texas, or to Salem Lutheran School in Tomball, Texas.
