Peg attended Brookhaven High School in Columbus, OH, graduating class of 1966. She attended college at Ohio State University.
Early in her professional life, Peg worked as a home health care nurse in Columbus, OH, and a dispatcher for the Connecticut Department of Transportation while residing in New Milford, CT. Peg then became a federal employee, serving the U.S. Navy for 27 years at the Navy Finance Center and Training Squadrons Ten and Eighty-Six at Naval Air Station - Pensacola, FL.
Peg loved sharing her heart with crafts, sewing, knitting, and quilting. She enjoyed nothing more than knitting sweaters for her grandchildren and creating quilts for family, friends, and anyone who needed to be wrapped in a Nana hug. Peg was also a member of the Birmingham Quilters Guild.
Nana’s pride and joy was raising her four children and cherishing her eleven grandchildren. She was actively involved in their lives, cheering them on at a sports event (loudly and full of love) or bringing everyone together on Christmas Eve.
Peg is preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Hazel (Boyett) Ford of Pensacola, FL. She is survived by her children Wendy Mallett (Bill), J. Scott Bennett (Carey), Peter Bennett (Crystal) and Rob Bennett (Jodana) as well as her grandchildren Kaitlyn, Alyssa, Gus, Joseph, Preston, Darrell, Coral, Trenton, Allison, Carissa, and K.J.
A funeral service will be held on February 14, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church in Pensacola, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association in her name.
