Margaret Lucille Self, age 84, passed away on Friday morning, August 25, 2017 at her Birmingham, AL home. She was a devoted homemaker, wife, and mother who operated a child daycare business in her home for 20 years. She was a long-time member of Lakeside Baptist Church.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Grady Earnest Self; her parents, Lula Maude Fulghum Caldwell and James Floyd Caldwell; one son, Keith Curtis Self; and one brother, James Curtis Caldwell.
Survivors include Margaret's son, Daniel Kelly Self; daughter, Renee' Evelyn Self Smith (Jeff); grandsons, Brandon Keith Smith (Annie), Christopher Allen Smith (Brittany), and Michael Warren Smith (Kelsey); granddaughter, Kelli Danielle Self; six great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, AL, immediately followed by the 11 a.m. funeral service at Ridout's Southern Heritage Chapel, Pelham. Burial will be at Croft-Acton Cemetery.
