Marilyn Miller Martens

Marilyn is survived by her daughters, Joni (David) Talley, Judi (Kevin) Moore, and Jenni (Bob) Boerner; and grandchildren/great-grandchildren, Amanda, Andrew (Hannah & Ezekiel), Josh (Cassie, Lucy & Ethan), Jeremy (Maddie), Josiah (Mallory), Jesse, Robert, John (Abby), and William. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, John, to whom she was happily married for 59 years, and daughter, Joni Kay.

Marilyn's love and kindness and were graciously expressed to everyone she knew, but especially to those at her church, Shades Mountain Independent Church, where she was a member for over 50 years. She worked as a P.E. teacher and chiropractic office administrator.

Marilyn was a faithful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who left a lasting Godly legacy.

A graveside service will be held at the Alabama National Cemetery at 10:15 a.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021, with a Celebration of Life Service following at Shades Mountain Community Church at 1 p.m. and family visitation after the service. The church service will also be livestreamed at SMCC.church/live or at Shades Mountain Community Church's Facebook page.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SMCC missions fund.
