Mary Christian Parrott

Mary Christian Parrott went to her heavenly home on December 6th, 2020. She was at home surrounded by her daughters. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, December 10th at 1pm. This will be a graveside service only per the families wishes. Mary was loved by everyone who met her. She always stood with open arms ready to hug you and make you feel like family. She was a well known and loved schoolteacher for the Jefferson County School System. Mary retired from Bellsouth as a phone Operator. She sang in the Twilight opera and taught piano to countless students. She had an amazing love for music. She was always singing or humming a beautiful tune. One of her favorites which she sang to all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was “You are my sunshine”. Mary was proceeded in death by the late husband Rev Herman C. Parrott, Mother Ruby Christian, Father Zachariah Christian, Daughter Nina Ray Childers, Two grandchildren Brandon and Christy Ray. Mary is survived by her dear sister Sarah Ann Gochenour (Marvin), Daughters Lynn P. Hudgins (Steve), Sharon Parrott and Linda Blair; Grandchildren, Michelle Currey ( Dan ), Diana Sprayberry, Chris Hudgins ( Mary ), Jason Blair, Jennifer Blair; Great Grandchildren Logan Sprayberry, Ashton Blair, Zachary Sprayberry, Grayson Blair, Mason Hudgins, Ryder Hudgins. She is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews and friends.
