"Missy" was an active member of Liberty Baptist Church in Chelsea and an enthusiastic Alabama football fan.
She was predeceased by her parents, James and Katie McAlpin; her mother-in-law, Mary Hanks; and two sisters, Glenda and Deborah. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Harold Hanks; five children, Delisca (Ben), Leslie (Seth), Heather, Treasure, and Hunter; sisters, Karan and Donna; brothers, Darwin and Dennis; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama. The Celebration of Missy's Life will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, August 10, 2015 at Liberty Baptist Church, Chelsea with Pastor Tim Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, Chelsea.
