Noel Tom "Tom" Smith

Tom graduated from Montgomery High School and attended West Virginia Tech. He worked in Engineering for Inland Construction until his retirement.

Tom was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church in Helena, AL, and his passions were church, his family, and golf.

Surviving Tom are his wife, Patricia A. Smith, who he married on August 23, 2008; one daughter, Stephanie Smith Gray (Jack); grandchildren, Melanie Blythe Gray, Gwen Marie Gray (Katherine), and Dr. Sharon Denise Gray Plaia (Sam); great-granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Plaia; special nephew, Harold "Rusty" Smith; step-daughters, Sheila A. Silvis (Rick) and Angela K. Adams; step-grandchildren, Tricia Bradley (Sebastian) and Anthony Fitzhugh; and four step-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2014 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, AL. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2014 in Ridout's Southern Heritage Chapel, Pelham, and burial will follow in Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham. Rev. Steve Kilpatrick will officiate.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Building Fund at Gospel Light Baptist Church in Helena, AL.
