She lived in Homewood, AL the past 54 years. She was the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Wilson Cline Persons Bussey of Columbus, GA. She was a very special, wonderful, wife, mother, and homemaker. Blessed with deep understanding and great empathy, she was one of God’s most delicate creations, with a very special grace. She was a member and past president of the Driftwood garden club; was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church; a past member of the Ladies Sodality and Saint Patrick’s alter band; and served many years on the 4th of July church festival committee. She was also a member of the neighborhood supper club, and the daughters of the Confederacy. She will be greatly missed by many friends and family.
Of her many accomplishments, she was most proud of introducing, and having passed a bill in the youth of Alabama Legislature, allowing women to serve on jury duty in the state of Alabama to equalize the jury (with both men and women). This bill was later introduced into the state legislature, passed and became a law.
She is preceded in death by her father, Wilson Cline Persons Bussey and her mother Frances Moon Bussey; her brother Wilson "Buddy" Cline Bussey Jr. (Sheila) as well as her Aunt Marguerite Bussey Sellers (Reginald).
