

Pamela graduated from Antioch High School in 1974, and earned her Bachelor Degree from Middle Tennessee State University four years later. In 2005, she completed requirements for her Master Degree from Cumberland University.
Pamela's professional career was in human resource management, most recently with Kratos Defense in the Engineering Department. Previously, she was employed for 17 years with Lochinvar Corporation. She was an active member of the Society of Human Resource Management, the Birmingham Society of Human Resources Management, and the American Society of Training and Development.
Pamela loved being "YaYa" to her four grandchildren, and enjoyed spending every possible moment with them, their parents, and her other family. Her favorite leisure activities included crafting, reading, shopping, traveling, and watching movies. She was an avid supporter of the American Heart Association, the Breast Cancer Foundation, and Wounded Warrior Project.
Pamela is survived by her two children, Michael Whittaker (Stephanie) and Jayna Goedecke (David); grandchildren, Ava and Alex Goedecke, and Adelina and Tenley Whittaker; brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Cheryl Smithson; and nieces and nephews, Katherine Perez, Josh Perez, Rebecca Smithson, Garner Perez, and Mallie Perez.
A Celebration of Life Gathering for Pamela's family and friends will be 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at The Birmingham Zoo.
