

2015 at UAB Hospital. She was born in Coden, Alabama to Captain John and Pearl Graham,
descendants of the Grahams that settled in the Bayou La Batre area in the early 1800's. Pearl
was a long time member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Friendship Class. Pearl attended Alabama College for Women, now University of Montevallo, and graduated from the University of Alabama to which she was a loyal fan. After graduation she was a case worker with the Department of Pensions and Security in Mobile. She was a volunteer for several years with the Children’s Service League and an active tennis player at Inverness Country Club until knee surgery hampered that and grandchildren became her priority. Pearl was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. In the later years, she excelled at being a grandmother which included assuring all had their favorite food upon arrival and departure. Pearl is survived by her husband, Herman Thrash (with whom she enjoyed almost 58 years of marriage even though he was an Auburn graduate); daughter Terri Golden (John), son Brad
Thrash (Susan) Marietta, GA; grandchildren Nicole and Zachary Lambertson, Stewart, Joseph and Gracelyn Thrash; a sister Kathryn Tate, Semmes, AL; sisters-in-law Betty Thrash Teague, Lake Martin, AL, Sybil Radford, Irvington, AL, Ramona Graham, Bayou La Batre, AL, Peggy Graham Deer Park, AL and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Edgar, Glenn and Clark.
Services will be officiated by Reverend Reid Crotty of Trinity United Methodist Church and Glenn Graham, Jr., Senior Pastor of East Memorial Baptist Church, Prattville, AL at Southern Heritage Funeral Home Tuesday, December 29 at 11:00 am with family receiving friends at 10:00 am and burial to follow at Southern Heritage Cemetery.
